Dear Beloved Solomon Family,
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
I have read this verse to myself and to the youth at Solomon many times before. We have used it to connect with God’s ultimate goodness, even in the midst of tough times in our lives. We have studied it to find rest in the promise of His guidance in our faith journeys. And, we have spoken it over ourselves to remember that we are caught in a beautiful dance of purpose with our God – an ever-present calling to fulfill His will in our lives and to follow Him, even when we cannot see.
Through constant prayer and deep discernment, God has solidified in me a call to a new ministry as the Youth and Family Life Director at St. Mark Lutheran Church in East Toledo. I will be responsible for overseeing their ministries to young people and families, and will have the opportunity to be God’s hands and feet to those living in the surrounding community. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for Justin and I, but we know that God’s ways are higher than our own, and where He leads, we must follow.
There is not enough space on this page to adequately express our gratitude and love for this Solomon community. You have impacted our hearts and our lives with your support and encouragement, your open arms, and your excitement for newness in Jesus. We have tried many new things together – far from the least of them, however, is creating space for a Director of Youth and Family Ministries at Solomon Lutheran Church & School. Thank you for stepping out in faith and trusting the Lord to use this position to serve your community.
My last Sunday at Solomon Lutheran Church will be Sunday, September 2nd, 2018. I will be working hard with those in leadership at Solomon to transition my ministries and duties in the coming weeks. And, as always, I will be covering Solomon Lutheran Church & School in prayers that our Gracious God would continue to call you to brave faith, righteous risks, and radical love.
In Christ’s Immeasurable Love,
