The Rev. G. Alan Brown II, OSL began his ministry at Solomon in July of 2019. He has served churches in Tennessee and Ohio for over two decades. Pr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Vocations from the University of Tennessee (formerly Martin Methodist College) and a Master Divinity Degree from United Theological Seminary where he studied sacramental thought and liturgical practice. Rev. Brown has received the Hoyt L. Hickman Award for excellence in liturgical scholarship and practice. Pastor Brown has also done Postgraduate/Doctoral course work in congregational leadership Northwestern University’s Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago and the Methodist Theological School In Ohio. Pastor Brown is passionate about celebrating the sacraments, preaching the gospel, and building a Christian community that welcomes, loves and accepts all persons. When he is not engaged parish ministry he enjoys, motorcycle riding, water skiing, smoke-cooking (B-B-Q), beer and wine making, carpentry and listening to and playing a variety of music from jazz, to bluegrass.
Principle Natalie Shiets earned both her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. She became Principal of Solomon Lutheran School in August of 2007. Prior to beginning her post as Principal, Mrs. Schiets was the Solomon Summer Child Care Program Director and Substitute Teacher at Solomon and other local school districts. Mrs. Schiets was a Construction Project Manager at the Medical College of Ohio from 1992-1999.
Sarah joined Solomon’s team as the Administrative Assistant for the church and school in May of 2016. She is a Terra State Community College graduate and has been a Solomon Lutheran Church member her entire life. She and her husband Dave, a native of Genoa, OH, have one son.
Dan Boyle joined the staff at Solomon in March, 2017. He began his church music career in 1981 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Custar, and then was Director of Music at Grace Lutheran Church in Elmore from 1997-2017. Dan has a bachelor’s degree in choral music education from BGSU, where he studied organ, harpsichord, and voice and did extensive accompanying of students and ensembles. Along with some post graduate work at the University of Toledo, he currently studies music composition and arranging with Wallace DePue, Sr. Dan and his wife Christine have three children and four grandchildren.
“Miss B” leads our ministry with families and youth in grades 9-12, creating a time and place for fellowship during the Sunday School hour, as well as monthly and annual youth events. Paige Busdiecker is a lifelong resident of Woodville, member of Solomon Lutheran Church and graduated from Woodmore High School. She is a graduate from Bowling Green State University. Ms. B describes youth ministry as, “Growing in faith while having fun by serving the community and others.”
